All is Love

I just wanted to write a little piece on the beautiful show I saw yesterday.
It was the first show I ever been to that took place in a church, and actually the first time I've been to a church in 5 years, since the second year of my Zivildienst.
My good friend Carsten won two tickets at the Spex giveaway-contest or something, and asked me if I wanted to join him, of course I did!

And it was beautiful, I guess that's the word that describes it best. They started off with "Blizzard of 77" and the acoustic versions made clear how great their songs actually are.
I enjoyed pretty much everything, with the sole exception of waiting in front of the Pauluskirche for more than one hour.
Nada Surf basically played almost all songs from "Let Go" (except for blonde on blonde, my favourite) and a couple of new ones from "The Weight is a Gift", all acoustic or unplugged. It felt as if both audience and artists were enchanted by the simple beauty of the moment.
Goosebumps galore, especially during what probably was the first ever encore in the history of the Pauluskirche. Too bad cameras were forbidden inside.
The guys obviously enjoyed the show, after sitting around somewhat shy in the beginning. And they proved to be supersympatico afterwards, hanging out in the churchyard chatting and giving autographs for an hour or so.
Well and then it was back to reality, and I have to say Dortmund HBF sucks monkey dick! For real, unbelievable amounts of idiots!

Anyway I hope that I can see Nada Surf when they come back in November, maybe even for a show at the Gleis...let's all keep our fingers crossed.
